So you are thinking of auditioning for the x factor 2014?, i have spent some time to come up with a basic guide around some key areas to help you in your quest.
What i want to do with this guide is give you some ideas how to help you get the most out of what you already have, and how to make the most out of your talents and skills.
Inside you might have the potential to go far in the x factor, but what you need to do is learn how to shine in front of the judges, how to bring out your potential to the fullest, and this takes practice and using some techniques, which the aim of the guide is to at least show some new ideas for people to be able to bring there A game when they audition.
So the most important thing you will need to consider is "Preparation" this is what will separate you from the rest of the competition, and preparation will be the key to all aspects of how go about being ready for the x factor auditions next year.
So the first stage of this will be starting out choosing your songs you are going to sing, and then practicing them, you roughly need about 4 or 5 songs to take to a audition, so you will want 2 of those to be your favorite songs that you are the most comfortable with and can sing the best.
The you will need 2 or 3 back up songs, just in case the judges ask "can you sing something else" or "do you have any other songs", if they do not like your first or second song, so the songs are something you need to get right as soon as possible, so that then you can practice them as much as possible in advance.
Try to vary things, so if possible try to choose a song that is popular, a song that is modern, and maybe also a classic song as well if possible, this will show you have some originality and are flexible in front of the judges.
When watching the x factor on tv, the song choices do show as being a very important aspect of who sometimes gets further in the competition so it is important to try and choose well, and also have some variety as well.
So now you are practicing your singing and have chosen your songs to practice, next when it comes time to stand in front of the judges your appearance is another thing they will judge, it seems they do favor people who are appear well dressed.
You like everyone else will have your own personal dress style, that you might need to change slightly to improve your chances at your audition, it is best to try and look as professional and tidy as possible, the judges are looking for someone they can mold themselves, and so they seem to favor people who do have some style but not over the top either.
So far in your preparation, good song choice, and good appearance/dress sense, next lets cover confidence, the judges want to see you shine as much as possible and not be too nervous.
Yes they know people are nervous at auditions, but they are also looking for a glowing confidence also, so how do you achieve this, or at least improve your confidence more then usual?.
One way is you need to learn how to build your own self confidence, and to do this you need to raise your own self esteem, how you think about yourself.
You need to change the way you think about yourself, so all the negative thoughts you have about yourself, turn them into positive thoughts, look at yourself differently, build your self up instead of breaking yourself down, try to have a more positive mental outlook on yourself.
If you are nervous about auditioning, one way of getting used to this apprehension, is to practice your songs in front of friends or family or a mirror etc, this way you will be doing the audition for real in advance, and this will take away the apprehension, if you can practice in front of other people then you will have less trouble practicing in front of the judges.
The good thing as well for practicing in front of friends or family, is to ask them for honest feedback also, and so through that they might be able to give you some good advice on how to improve your performance.
Practice your performance in advance also, so before singing your song, walk out like you are at the actual audition, describe who you are, like your name and age, and what you do in life, then do your song, this way through repeated practice you can perfect your stage presence in advance, and not have any doubts.
By practicing in advance you are removing doubts and the opportunity for mistake, because it will all be like second nature to you, by then, and so you will be so much more confident, your stage presence will be so much better, so by preparing or practicing all the aspects of your audition in advance you are going to come over as professional and impressive to the judges and give yourself the best chance at getting those yes votes.
As always leave feedback in the comments section at the bottom of the page, if you have any questions or advice on how to make the audition process as easy and successful as possible for all us hopefuls!.
